The Embassy of India, Ljubljana celebrated the Fourth International Day of Yoga (FIDY) on 16th June 2018 in the picturesque Tivoli City Park in Ljubljana from 0930 to 1300 hrs. The Embassy brought together various Yoga Associations and Federations under one umbrella and provided them a common platform to celebrate the FIDY. As a gesture this year, the Municipality of Ljubljana did not charge any fee for hiring the space at Tivoli Park. More than 150 yoga enthusiasts participated in the FIDY. Deputy Mayor of Ljubljana, Dejan Crnek also attended the FIDY celebrations. The Mission also distributed Yoga Kits supplied by the ICCR to the pariticipants. After Ambassador's welcome address to the participants, the Yoga Protocol was performed on stage by the Teacher of Indian Culture for about 45 minutes. Yoga teachers/instructors from Tara Yoga Centre; Kundalini Yoga; Ayuryoga; Art of Living; Ayengar Yoga Studio and Yoga in Daily Life gave live demonstrations of various Asanas practicsed by them. A lecture on the "Importance of Yoga & Ayurveda" was also delivered by Dr.Shiyas Hussain Sheriff representing Hotel Plesnik.
A curtain raiser event to celebrate the FIDY was organised by the "Yoga in Daily Life" on 20th May at Mozirje Botanical Garden in which around 300 Yoga enthusiasts participated. Ambassador Param Jit Mann also attended the event and addressed the gathering highlighting the benefits of yoga.
Photographs of the FIDY celebrations and of the curtain raiser event have also been uploaded on the portal. The Mission wish to mention that in the publications brought out by the XP Division after the Third International Day of Yoga, Slovenia's participation in the Third International Day of Yoga was not mentioned. The Mission would be grateful if Slovenia's participation in the celebrations of FIDY is not missed this year.
